Beginning in Western Europe shortly after World War II, Surrealism was an artistic, philosophical and literary movement that sought to emphasize non-physical states, such as dreams, and to integrate them into the physical world. Although it originated from Dadaism, it was distinctly different in that while Dadaism sought to negate reality and the traditional methods of describing it, Surrealism was more focused on integrating conscious reality with the subconscious.

In contemporary art, Surrealism has matured and expanded beyond the original Surrealist's obsessive focus on the dream state to a more enlightened and expansive examination of non-physical realities. The goal is no longer expressing the primacy of the dream state but rather integrating physical reality with non-physical reality in a way that communicates and fosters personal and societal evolution.

"Surrealism Revisited"examines the evolution of surrealism through the work of two Surrealist artists. Modern Surrealism is represented in the exhibition by the work of Salvador Dali, one of the best known Modern Surrealists. In particular, the exhibition focuses on complete suites of original etchings that Dali created for Pierre Argillet, the French art publisher who founded the Musee du Surrealisme outside of Paris.

Contemporary Surrealism is represented by the work of internationally renowned contemporary art curator and artist Sir Daniel K. Winn. Winn's "Existential Surrealism" demonstrates the emphasis placed in Contemporary Surrealism on enlightenment and the integration of physical and non-physical realities. Both original oil paintings and mixed-media marble and bronze sculpture will be exhibited.
当代超现实主义则是以国际著名的当代艺术策展人及艺术家丹尼尔•温爵士（Daniel K. Winn）的作品为代表。温的“存在超现实主义”体现了当代超现实主义对启蒙运动的强调，以及物质现实与非物质现实的融合。展出的作品奖包括原创油画，混合媒介的大理石作品及青铜雕塑。
